Then we encourage you to attend the Mercer County Sheriff's Citizens Academy.
The Mercer County Sheriff's Office sponsors the Sheriff Citizen's Academy to offer participants an education about operations, services, and responsibilities of our agency.
The Citizens Academy is designed to give citizens a working knowledge of office personnel, policies and procedures. The course consists of classes held weekly for approximately 10 weeks for 2 hours per session from 7pm to 9pm. Sessions will include the selection and specialized training of MCSO employees, investigations, patrol, drug enforcement, felony warrants, domestic violence, tax collection, courtroom security, SWAT and much more.
The requirements are as follows: An age minimum of 18 years, Pass a qualifying background check, No felony or misdemeanor convictions, Or a record impugning applicant's character. Open to any citizen that live's or work's within Mercer County.
